I passed the glucose tolerance test. And we have reached the third, and final, trimester. I can't believe we finally got to this point. After 28 weeks, the baby has a much better chance of survival if born early because the lungs are at a good development point.

We had another nice, uneventful appointment today. We listened to the heartbeat again. I have gained 6 pounds since my last appointment, bringing the total weight gain to 24 pounds so far. I hope that I can stay within the optimum weight gain range of 25-35 pounds. I haven't been very hungry lately, and the doctor said it was normal for my appetite to fluctuate. He also said that the 2nd trimester is generally the best one and that the 3rd trimester is going to take a lot out of me.

I'm still measuring big! He measured the fundal height at 33 cm, which roughly corresponds to 33 weeks. I am now measuring almost 4 weeks bigger than I actually am. So, I get to have at least one more ultrasound, at our next appointment on September 12. I'm glad we get to see him again before he is born.

Now that I am in the third trimester, we are going to gradually decrease the time between appointments. First 4 weeks, then 3 weeks, then 2 weeks and finally every week until the baby is born.

On a fun note, my sister Berni has sent out invitations for my baby shower on September 15th! She and a few of my close friends are putting it all together for me. All I have to do is show up. Lots of my girlfriends have RSVP'd...it's all very exciting!
