Maida was experiencing some cramps starting on Easter Sunday which lasted for several days. So, we called Dr. Baer, and he had us come in right away.
Maida was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma. This is a blood clot formed when the chorionic membrane separates from the wall of the uterus.
In many cases, this can cause cramping or even bleeding. However, since it the hematoma was so small, it will probably just get reabsorbed into the body. Maida is advised to drink lots of water and to take it easy.
Today we actually got to hear the heart beating. It was so fast...measuring at 179 bpm
